How to Support a Small Business This Festive Season
Like everyone, we’re readying ourselves for a very different kind of Christmas this year. Small businesses like MASAJ are busy prepping for the buildup to what should be the busiest time of year, but with a brand new set of challenges to face. With this in mind, we’ve put together some of our top tips on how you can best support small businesses this festive season!
Christmas is fast approaching, and the social media and search engine algorithms have probably already been bombarding you with discounts (Black Friday, anyone?!), tinsel-adorned adverts and Christmas bangers.
It is *completely ok* if you aren’t in a position to do presents this year - a lot of us have been hit hard financially and the thought of buying gifts may fill you with dread. The most important thing this year is that you and your loved ones are safe, warm and healthy.
However, if you are in the position where you can and want to buy gifts for loved ones, then our number one piece of advice is to please, be prepared!
This year more than ever, now is the time to start thinking ahead and planning early.
When you shop at a small business you are paying for care, attention to detail, and a personal touch - something we all enjoy! This sometimes can lead to slightly longer shipping times, and a backlog of orders for a teeny tiny team. Small businesses can rarely offer next day shipping, and cannot compete with global brands who can afford to offer free delivery, last-minute discounts or buy-one-get-one-free deals. Think ahead now and get those orders in before you find yourself relying on big brand names who can offer a quick fix for that relative you forgot about!
During this second lockdown, we are packing and online shipping orders twice per week (on Tuesdays and Fridays!) which means that giving yourself a little wriggle room with delivery times will make a huge difference. Unfortunately we’re not currently able to offer our collection service as our Studios are now closed until at least the start of December.
