What To Expect During No.1

You’ll start by filling in your MASAJ slate, where you can let us know your preferences, any areas of focus or sensitivity, and how interactive you’d like the session to be. Whether you’d prefer stillness and quiet or a little dialogue and explanation, the treatment is completely tailored to you. Choose your scents and playlist or, be lead by the therapists.

It’s your treatment, make it yours.

Next, you’ll be led by your therapist to the treatment room, where your bespoke relaxing treatment massage will begin.

Sessions often focus on the shoulders, back, neck, arms, and legs, but can be adapted based on what feels most helpful that day.

  • It can be but we recommend longer sessions for a head to toe treatment. You’re welcome to guide us on which areas you’d like to include or avoid. The treatment is completely tailored to your preferences.

  • No.1 uses light to moderate pressure, designed to soothe rather than stretch or manipulate muscles. You’re always welcome to guide your therapist throughout the session.

  • Yes — we’ll ask you what level of communication you’d prefer. Some people like conversation, others prefer quiet time. You’re in control.

  • This type of full-body massage has numerous healing, soothing and uplifting benefits. Our experts can hone in on any target areas that require extra attention if requested.

    The emphasis is on inducing total relaxation and a feeling of deep calm and contentment. During massage, our ‘happiness hormones’, serotonin and endorphins, release into the bloodstream, combating the stress hormone ‘cortisol’ and helping to reduce anxiety.

  • This treatment is not suitable for pregnant clients or those who have recently given birth. If you are over 12 weeks pregnant, we encourage booking a specialist pre- or post-natal treatment (No.5 on our Treatment Menu) instead.

    Once in your second or third trimester, we highly recommend booking a nurturing and deeply relaxing massage with one of our pregnancy specialists. Pregnancy massage can be very relieving for back pain, neck pain, shoulder tension, and any other bodily and mental stresses that come with carrying a baby.
